Sichuan Mianzhu Dongsheng Distillery Co., Ltd. is located in Mianzhu, Sichuan - a region renowned as a premium Chinese spirits producing area - and traces its origins to the "Dongsheng Distillery" workshop founded by the ancestors of the Zhong family. The company now covers 228 mu, with more than 2,000 fermentation pits (the oldest being 44 years old), an annual base-liquor capacity of 12,000 kilolitres, a storage capacity of 53,000 kilolitres and an annual bottling capacity of 15 million cases, holding over 400 trademarks and more than 40 patents.
The company has a clear development path: in 1992 it acquired the No. 3 branch of Mianzhu Shenggong Distillery in Wufang Village, Shidi Town, which was later reorganised into Sichuan Mianzhu Dongsheng Distillery Co., Ltd.; in 1993 it formed a close associated relationship with Jiannanchun Distillery, to which all of its base liquor was supplied; in 1995-1996 the plant was expanded twice and Sichuan Dongsheng Liquor Industry Co., Ltd. was established; in 1998 the company left Jiannanchun and embarked on building its own brands, with the first bottling line commissioned in October of that year and the first bottled product, "Dongsheng Liangye", launched; in 2013 Dongsheng was listed on the Tianjin Equity Exchange (equity code 651002).
The company attaches great importance to exploring liquor culture and to integrating fine spirits with culture. It has launched the Chinese philosophical-culture liquor series "Daoshengyi", the Chinese folk New Year painting culture series "Nianhua" (New Year Painting), as well as the "Dongsheng Aged Liquor" and "Dongsheng · D69" series, which sell well across China thanks to their distinctive traditional style and rich cultural heritage. Its best-selling product "Dongsheng Daoshengyi" was named one of China's Top Ten Regional Liquors of 2022, and "China New Year Painting Liquor" won the "Gold Award Product" title at the Brussels International Spirits Competition.
The "Zhong Family Traditional Dongsheng Liquor Brewing Technique" has been included in the Mianzhu (Deyang) Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The company has been awarded titles including "China Time-honoured Brand", "Sichuan New Golden Flower of Baijiu", "Sichuan Time-honoured Brand", "Provincial Leading Enterprise in Agricultural Industrialisation", "Top 20 Base Liquor Producers of Sichuan Province (First Session)", "Eight High-quality Base Liquor Producers of Sichuan Province", "National Contract-honouring and Creditworthy Enterprise", "Top Ten Private Enterprises of Mianzhu 2022" and "China Innovative Famous Liquor 2024", and has jointly built the "Sichuan Liquor Group Dongsheng Base" with Sichuan Liquor Group.
The company operates two production bases - the group headquarters and the intangible-cultural-heritage brewing area - and has established long-term partnerships with more than 2,000 large, medium and small enterprises, serving as a base-liquor supplier to many well-known domestic and international brands. It also provides OEM customisation, offering tailor-made outer boxes and bottle designs and five base-liquor grades (A1 to A5). In the future the company will continue to leverage the advantages of Mianzhu's premium baijiu production area, persevere in craftsmanship, stay rooted in pure-grain solid-state brewing and take it as its mission to produce affordable quality liquor for ordinary consumers, contributing to the development of Sichuan baijiu and the rise of Mianzhu baijiu through inheritance and innovation.
