The outer peel of immature or nearly mature Citrus grandis ‘Tomentosa’, produced mainly in Huazhou, Guangdong, and one of the ten renowned Cantonese medicines. Warm in nature with a bitter-pungent taste, it regulates qi, relieves chest oppression, dries dampness and resolves phlegm, and is used for cough with copious phlegm and food or alcohol stagnation. Cleaned and cut into shreds or pressed whole, it is packed in sachets for direct brewing or dispensing, giving a fragrant orange-yellow infusion.
